1.) Peel and cut potatoes into thin slices. 2.) Place some of the potatoes in layer in a well-buttered baking pan. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Sprinkle with little of the cheese. Repeat until all potatoes and ¾ of the cheese is used up. Make sure the stacks of potatoes are packed tightly down. 3.) Pour the cream over the potatoes just until the level of the cream is up to the level of the potatoes. Top with Cheese. 4.) Bake uncovered at 350F until done, about 45-60 minutes.
